My record is 14 curb rescues in a single Tuesday walk
I went out for a normal trash day stroll near my place in Portland last month and somehow everything good was out at once. By the time I got home I had a full-size drafting table, a bread machine with the manual taped to it, a stack of 90s National Geographics, three wooden chairs with no wobble, and a lamp that just needed a bulb. The bread machine actually worked after I cleaned out old crumbs, and I sold the drafting table to a college kid for 40 bucks on the spot. What really got me was counting them later, 14 separate finds in under two hours felt like some kind of personal best. It made me wonder if I should just always walk on trash day with a folding wagon, but that feels greedy somehow. Has anyone else ever had a crazy single-day haul like that, or am I just lucky with my route?
