Tile floors threw me for a loop after years of carpet

I usually handle carpet installs, but got a tile project. The steps were new to me... How do you get good at tile quickly?

Heard from a pro that getting the floor ready is the most important part. If it's not flat and stable, the tile will crack. Spending time on that first step makes everything else easier.

How many times have I learned that lesson the hard way? Rushed the floor prep once and spent the next year listening to those tiles crack every time someone walked in. Taking the time at the start saves so much headache later, doesn't it?
