My chain kept skipping after I cleaned it with a spray can

I rode through some mud last week and my chain started jumping gears. I sprayed it down with degreaser, but the problem got worse. Turns out I didn't rinse it well enough and the leftover cleaner was stopping the lube from sticking. I flushed it with a bit of water from a spray bottle, let it dry, and re-lubed it. Now it shifts smooth again. What's your go-to method for cleaning a really dirty chain?

Been there, done that. It's so easy to miss a spot with the degreaser. Glad you got it sorted out.
