Neighbor's weed jungle finally got me to stop being nice about curb appeal
The guy two houses down let his front yard become a 4 foot tall mess of ragweed and crabgrass over the summer, and last week I found a rat nest under my porch steps. I think his neglect is drawing pests straight to my place. Has anyone else had to deal with a neighbor's overgrown yard causing actual problems like this?

Trap line and wire mesh around your foundation... @the_jordan, same drill with the fleas.

... wait, a rat nest? UNDER your porch?? That's insane. I mean, I've seen some bad yards before but that's a whole new level of problem. I had a neighbor once who just let their grass get knee high and it was full of ticks and fleas, but never anything with rats. That's the kind of thing that gets the whole block in trouble, not just your house. I'd be losing it if I found that under my steps... seriously, how did you even know it was there?
