Tried toothpaste to patch a small nail hole and it actually held up for 6 months
Had a tiny hole from a picture hanger in my rental and no spackle, so I dabbed some white toothpaste in there and smoothed it out with a credit card. Worked great until the landlord came by and I had to explain why the wall smelled minty. Has anyone else used weird stuff in a pinch that lasted way longer than it should have?

Is it bad that I've used toothpaste to patch holes in three different apartments now...? My walls must smell like a dentist's office at this point.

lol I've got toothpaste in my bathroom wall right now from the last tenant. Just a tiny hole from a nail they pulled out, but it's been there for like six months. Works fine honestly, white toothpaste blends right in on white walls. Just don't use the gel kind lmao.
