Question about using old car parts in a jacket design
I was at a junkyard in Phoenix last month looking for some old seatbelt webbing to use as straps. This guy in a greasy jumpsuit saw me pulling at a Chevy's belts and said, 'You know, the airbag fabric in the steering wheel is a lot stronger and has a cool texture.' I spent the next hour carefully cutting one out, which felt totally weird. Has anyone else tried using safety gear materials in their work, or is that just asking for trouble?

Sounds like a great way to get a lawsuit...

Look at that case last year where a company got fined 2 million for something similar. They thought their user agreement was enough, but the court said it was misleading. Once lawyers get involved, they pick apart every line of the terms of service. It's not just about the fine either, the bad press alone can wreck a brand for years. People remember that stuff and it kills trust. Honestly, cutting corners on clear rules is just asking for a long, expensive fight.
