Burned $60 on organic cotton thread that snapped constantly

Bought it from a small shop in Austin. Sounded great. Eco-friendly, natural dyes. But the thread broke every 10 stitches on my machine. Had to rethread 50 times for a simple shirt. Anyone else have luck with eco-friendly threads or is it all hype?

I mean, the 'natural dyes' bit caught my eye - I tried some local dye once and my hands were purple for a week." Honestly, sometimes the eco-friendly stuff just doesn't hold up to regular use.

I actually read an article in Popular Science a while back that tested 15 different natural dyes from plants like indigo and madder root. It said most of them faded by 40% after just 10 washes in a regular laundry cycle. That purple hands thing happened to me too, but with beet juice once. It stained my kitchen counter for months even after I scrubbed it. I feel like if companies want us to switch to this stuff, they need to figure out how to make it last better.
