Had a chat with an old timer at a clinic in Kentucky that changed how I look at feet
I went to a farrier clinic in Lexington last month and started talking to this guy who's been shoeing for 40 years. He told me he stopped using nails on most of his horses and just switched to glue-on shoes about 5 years ago. I always thought glue-ons were a gimmick for fancy show horses, but he showed me 20 case studies from his own logbook. Now I'm second guessing my whole approach to thin hoof walls. Has anyone else here actually made the full switch to glue-ons for everyday work?

Glue-ons work best on dry clean feet and fail fast in mud.

Haven't tried glue-ons in the mud myself - do they just peel off instantly or do they get all slippery first?
