Had a talk with a client that changed how I handle acne cases
An older woman came in last Tuesday and told me her teenage acne cleared up after she stopped using everything except water and a basic moisturizer. She said 'less is more' and it hit me that I've been recommending too many steps for sensitive skin. Anyone else ever get humbled by a client's simple routine?

Honestly this is so real. I had a guy come in a few months back who just used a gentle cleanser and this basic moisturizer from the drugstore and his skin was flawless. Tbh I was kind of embarrassed for a second because I was over here recommending like five products for his acne when he was just doing fine with two. Ngl it made me rethink my whole approach for a lot of clients and now I always ask what they're already doing before I add stuff. It's humbling but honestly it saves people time and money so I'm glad I learned it.

Love when real life smacks the overcomplication right out of you. That's the thing about skincare, we get so caught up in layers and routines we forget skin can just be happy with less. Sometimes the best lesson is watching someone with two products looking better than half your clients with ten.
