Had a hoistway door lock stick on a call in Omaha last Tuesday
It was a 20 story office building and the car kept getting stuck at the 14th floor. The lock roller was binding on the strike plate because someone had painted over it. I used a small file to clean off the paint from the contact points and a bit of dry lube on the roller pin. Has anyone else seen this happen after a building gets repainted?

It's wild how often a simple paint job causes problems people never think about. Maintenance gets overlooked until something breaks.
