Blew $80 on a 'GUARANTEED PASS' Praxis prep course and the materials were just recycled YouTube videos

Signed up for that Praxis 5001 study program that promised a full refund if you didn't pass. The whole thing was just links to free YouTube videos and a few PDF worksheets that looked like they were scanned from a 2003 textbook. Lost the $80 and two weeks of study time because the structure was so bad. Anyone else get burned by a similar 'guaranteed' prep resource?

Start by checking if they even have a real refund policy. Most of these "guaranteed pass" programs have fine print that makes it almost impossible to actually get your money back. Next time look for a prep course that offers a free trial or at least lets you see a sample lesson before you pay. I always search for reviews outside the company's own website too, like on Reddit or teacher forums. That's how I found out a lot of these programs are just rebranded free stuff.

Jumped into this mess myself before I realized @caseyfox has a solid point about checking refund policies. Honestly, it's like everything these days - people slap some free content together, add a slick website, and call it a premium product. Ngl, I saw the same thing happen with those meal kit services that advertised chef-curated recipes but shipped bags of wilted veggies and pre-ground pepper. Tbh, the whole "guaranteed pass" hype is just another version of those gym contracts that promise transformation in 30 days but lock you into a year of fees.
