Paid $600 for a fancy cutterhead rebuild and it saved my whole summer season
I run a small dredge on the Mississippi near Dubuque, and last spring my cutterhead was just beat. I was trying to save money by patching it myself with weld beads, but it kept tearing up on the rocks. Finally bit the bullet and sent it to a shop in St. Louis for a full rebuild with new teeth and a hardened ring. That was $600 out of pocket, but it got me through 4 months with zero downtime. Has anyone else had good luck with aftermarket parts or is OEM the only way to go?

Buddy spent $500 on a reman cutterhead and it lasted TWO seasons on the Missouri.
