Overheard a guy at the diner complaining about his cutter suction line

I was grabbing coffee in Port Arthur last Tuesday and this older operator was telling his buddy about a clog that cost him a whole shift. He said the issue was they kept stopping the pump every time the vacuum dropped instead of letting it run and reversing the flow for a few seconds. I tried that trick on my last job with 6 inches of packed sand and it cleared in under 2 minutes. Now I only kill the pump if the line temp spikes over 140 degrees. Anyone else run a reverse flush routine when they hit a plug?
