That 3D printed dust shroud I tried made my sander worse
Last month I printed one of those angled dust shrouds for my orbital sander, the kind everyone posts on here. Hooked it up to my shop vac and figured it would keep the garage cleaner. Instead, the thing kept snagging on edges and the suction pulled the sander flat against the wood, leaving swirl marks on a walnut table top I was finishing. Took it off after 20 minutes and went back to the stock guard, which honestly works fine with a decent vac. I learned that extra parts aren't always upgrades, they can just add new problems. Has anyone else tried one of these and gone back to factory setup?
