Found a hidden layer trick that saved my Friday afternoon

I was wrestling with a client's floor plan in AutoCAD where every wall was on the same layer, so lineweights were a mess after 3 hours of edits. I finally set up a quick lisp routine that auto-assigns layers based on wall thickness, and it cut my cleanup time to about 20 minutes. Has anyone else built custom commands for layer management, or do you just stick with the standard tools?
