Ran into my neighbor Rosa at the Dollar Tree on Blackstone Ave about a week ago and she saw the two cans of chili in my basket. She told me straight up, "Check the pull date before you buy that stuff, some of it sits there forever." I got home and looked at the cans, and both were past the date printed on the bottom, not by a day or two but by almost five months. I had been using that chili as the base for my rice bowls for a while and just never thought to look. Does anyone else check dates at their store, or is it just the shelves near me that seem slow to rotate?
