Wasted $200 on cheap laminate flooring and regret it
So I thought I was being smart buying those $1 a square foot planks from the big box store. After 8 months the edges are chipping and the surface is scratched just from my cat walking on it. Should have just saved up for the mid-grade stuff for $3 a foot. Anyone else fall for the bargain flooring trap?

Whoa, I gotta disagree a bit here. I put that same $1 stuff in my last apartment and it held up fine for 3 years til I moved out. The trick is you gotta get the right underlayment and leave a good expansion gap or it'll buckle and chip. Also if your cat is scratching it up, maybe trim its nails or get a rug? Not saying $3 stuff isn't better but the cheap stuff can work if you install it right and dont walk on it with dirty shoes.
