My kitchen backsplash tile project turned into a 3 day puzzle

I cut all the pieces for my herringbone pattern on Thursday, but my layout was off by a quarter inch on the first wall. I had to pull up every single tile and start over, which took until Saturday afternoon. Has anyone else had a pattern go sideways like that and found a good fix?

Honestly that quarter inch thing sounds like a feature not a bug. Sometimes those tiny imperfections are what give a project character and make it look handmade. I've seen perfect installs that look sterile and boring.
