Cheap monitor arm vs. the wood block I used for two years
I finally swapped the pine block under my monitor for a $30 gas spring arm from a garage sale last Saturday. The block was dead level and steady, but I kept knocking papers behind it, and the arm fixed that without any wobble at the advertised height. Honestly, the block did the job fine, but the arm took up less desk space and made cable routing way cleaner. Has anyone else found that a basic VESA mount beats a custom built stand for the same price?
