Appreciation post: a friend's one comment fixed my whole cable nightmare
I spent like 2 years with a rats nest of cables under my desk. Power strip, monitor cables, keyboard, mouse, all tangled into one big clump. I thought it was fine because nobody could see it.
Then my buddy came over for a LAN night and said 'dude, your desk looks like it's being strangled by spaghetti.' That hit different than I expected. So I finally bought a 12 pack of velcro ties for 6 bucks and a cable tray from the hardware store for 8.
Took me about an hour on a Saturday. Now every cable has its own path, the power strip is mounted under the desk, and I can actually unplug one thing without pulling out three others.
Has anyone else had a cheap fix change how much they enjoy using their desk? What was your breaking point?
