Warning: hot glue on a portafilter is a one-way trip
I tried to fix a stripped portafilter ear by building it up with hot glue last Tuesday, figured it would hold for a few pulls. It melted into the group head within 20 minutes and now I'm scrubbing black gunk out of the shower screen. Anyone else tried a quick epoxy or JB Weld patch that turned into a bigger mess than the original problem?

JB Weld is way worse honestly. It cures hard and then you've got little chunks of metal-filled epoxy flaking into your shots for weeks. The heat cycling makes it brittle too. Had a buddy try to fix a cracked brew head with it once and ended up replacing the whole machine because he couldn't get the residue out of the threads.
