I finally tried the paperclip trick on my espresso machine's steam wand

I always thought cleaning the steam wand with just a wet cloth was enough. Then last week I noticed milk was building up inside the tip and the steam pressure was getting weak. A friend told me to use a paperclip to clear out the little holes. I did it and the difference was huge. Now I have way better microfoam and no more random sputtering. Has anyone else tried using pins or paperclips for this or do you have a better tool?

Hated that sputtering too until I did the same thing @brookebailey, it really does work.
