Showerthought: people keep putting their floor jack under the plastic rocker panel and then act shocked when it punches through.
I saw my buddy in Toledo do this last weekend, and after we spent $150 on a new panel, I realized the pinch weld is literally two inches further in and marked with little arrows.

My neighbor did that exact thing to his Civic last month.

Man, this is the perfect example of a universal truth. People just stop at the first obvious-looking spot instead of taking two seconds to look for the right one. You see it everywhere, like folks jamming a flathead screwdriver into something clearly meant for a Phillips. It's a weird mix of being in a hurry and trusting the wrong visual cue. That little arrow on the pinch weld might as well be invisible.
