Debate: did my alternator fail because of old age or my bad habit of letting the battery drain down to zero?
Last Tuesday in my driveway in Austin my 2010 Honda Civic died at a red light and I swapped the alternator myself for $120 but now I'm wondering if jumping it dead five times this year caused the failure or if 180k miles just caught up with it, what do you all think caused yours to go?

180k miles is probably what did it, jumping it dead just sped things up a little.

180k miles is about the time my check engine light became a permanent dashboard feature, @carr.daniel.
