My neighbor's deck collapsed because he used drywall screws for the joist hangers
I saw the whole mess last spring, and it made me check my own deck build from two years ago. I found I had done the same thing, so I spent a weekend pulling them all out and replacing them with the proper structural screws. How do you guys keep track of which fasteners are rated for outdoor structural stuff?

Drywall screws for a deck, that's a bold choice. Basically building a death trap with extra steps. My system is just leaving the right box of screws sitting on the project so I can't possibly grab the wrong ones. Still almost did it last week when I was tired.
