Warning: a seized seatpost from a 90s mtb took me 3 days of soaking and a homemade slide hammer to finally break free.

I thought it would be a quick afternoon job, but that old steel frame had basically welded itself together with rust and required a full bottle of penetrating oil, a trip to the hardware store for pipe fittings, and a whole lot of patience before it finally let go with a loud crack.

Slide hammer and a prayer worked for me too.

Buddy of mine tried that on his old F-150. Snapped the bolt right off and the slide hammer went flying across the garage. Almost took out his windshield.
