Finally stopped using pliers on cable housing, bought a $12 cutter

For like 3 years I used needle nose pliers and a utility knife to cut brake cable housing. Every single cut was mangled, jagged, and I'd spend 20 minutes filing the end flat. Last month I grabbed a cheap housing cutter from my local shop in Austin, and the first cut was clean in one squeeze. No more frayed wires poking through the housing, no more fighting with the cable end caps. Took maybe 10 minutes total to redo my rear brake line versus the usual hour. Has anyone else held out on buying the right tool for way too long, or am I the only stubborn one?

Bought a cable stretcher after years of fighting with pliers and never looked back, total game changer.
