A guy in Medellin told me I was cosplaying a nomad and it stung because he was right
I met this guy at a co-working spot in Medellin about 5 weeks ago and he asked where I was headed next, and I said I didn't know, probably wherever the wifi is good. He just looked at me and said "so you're not living anywhere, you're just hiding from everywhere." That hit different because I've been in 11 cities in 14 months and I still can't tell you what I actually do with my days besides work and find food. I always told myself the moving was the point, but his words made me realize I've been running from the hard part of putting down any roots at all. Has anyone else actually picked a base city and stayed, or did you just keep bouncing like me?
Why do you think hiding from somewhere has to be a bad thing though? Some of us do our best thinking while moving, and not having a base isn't automatically running from something.
