Spent a year posting my art at max resolution before someone told me to size down

I was uploading these massive 8K files to the showcase thread and wondering why nobody was commenting on the details I spent hours on. Turns out most folks are browsing on their phones and my stuff was just taking forever to load. Has anyone else had a 'wait I'm an idiot' moment with their file settings?

Oh man, I feel this. I spent like three months uploading 50MB PSD files to a forum thinking people were zooming in on my brush strokes. Turns out they were just getting a blank white page and moving on. My crowning moment was when a buddy said "your art looks great but maybe try a jpeg thats like under 5MB next time" and I felt my soul leave my body. Did you ever go back and reupload the old stuff at a sane size or just let that nightmare die?

Used to think bigger files meant people could see the details better, but nope. That nightmare died quietly, nobody was looking at those 50MB monstrosities anyway.
