I finally heard a gallery owner call digital art 'just fancy screensavers'

It was at a local show in St. Louis, and it made me think about how we value art. Is the physical object the real art, or is the creative idea behind the pixels what matters more? Where do you stand on digital art's place in the art world?

Ugh, that's like saying photos aren't real paintings.

Used to feel the same way until I saw a photo series that told a better story than most history books. Changed my mind about what makes something real art. It's more about the idea than the tool.
