Vent: Shifting my workbench layout flipped my view on diesel shop efficiency
I redid my home garage to fit a new tool chest and cleared space around my engine stand. Having room to roll under the truck without bumping into stuff changed everything. It hit me that a cluttered bay slows down pros just like it did me. Good flow isn't just for big shops, it saves headaches in any repair job.

Doubt it's that big a deal. I mean, clearing space is good, but saying it changes how fast you work? We all trip over tools and still get things done.

Tell me you've never had a ladder fall on you without telling me. Tripping over a cord costs at least five minutes of cussing and untangling. Call it a time saver when you don't need a first aid kit.

On my last job, cords everywhere, still finished early.
