Question about the new lube tech who asked me why I still use a paper clip on injector connectors
Had a kid named Marcus at our shop in Bakersfield ask me last month why I keep a box of paper clips in my top drawer. Told him I use them to pull the lock tabs on injector harness connectors instead of buying the $40 tool, and he just stared at me like I was speaking another language. Then he said his school taught him to just unplug and yank, so I watched him break two clips in a row on the same engine. Made me wonder if the supply houses are the only ones keeping the old tricks alive, or do any of you still teach the paper clip trick to your green guys?
