Appreciation post: my uncle's 'just tap it with a hammer' fix for a stuck injector on my Duramax actually worked after three tries.

He said to use a brass punch and a 2-pound mallet, and after I finally got the angle right, that stubborn injector popped free like nothing.

Ha, that's the best kind of fix. It's wild how often the simple, percussive solution is the right one.

Man, I feel that relief. You're sitting there with all the fancy tools and it just laughs at you. @the_andrew is right, sometimes you just need to hit the thing. It's not even about force, it's about that one perfect tap that breaks the seal. Getting the angle right is everything, otherwise you're just making noise. Glad your uncle's old school trick saved you a huge headache.

Oh MAN, that angle thing is SO true. I spent an hour trying to get a rusty bolt off a lawnmower once, twisting and turning with a breaker bar. Then my neighbor just walks over, gives it ONE sideways smack with a chisel and a normal hammer, and it spun right off. Made me feel like a total fool. It's like the universe just wants you to learn the hard way sometimes.
