MFA fatigue is worse than just using a good password
Last month I got locked out of my email for 3 hours because of an MFA glitch at work. I was stuck trying to approve a push notification that never came through, and the backup codes were on my phone. Three years ago I was happy to set up two-factor, but now I feel like these apps cause more problems than they solve. I think people rely on MFA as a crutch instead of just picking a solid 12 character passphrase. Has anyone else had a rough time with authenticator apps failing right when you need them?

My phone ran out of battery right when I needed those backup codes last month, so I was sitting in my car like some kind of digital hobo trying to charge it.
