My neighbor in 4B has been mowing his carpet at 6am for three weeks
I live in an old brick building in Cleveland and the guy in 4B started this about three weeks ago. I thought it was a vacuum at first but then I ran into the mail lady and she said she heard it too, and it is 100 percent a lawn mower, like the push kind. I finally knocked on his door on Sunday and he just stared at me and said the fibers need to stay even. Now I am wondering if I should call the landlord or just start wearing earplugs to bed, has anyone dealt with a neighbor doing something this weird?
Man, that is wild. My uncle went through something sort of like this back in the 90s when his upstairs neighbor decided to sand his hardwood floors at 5 in the morning every day for a month. Turns out the guy was going through a divorce and just lost his mind a little, and after a few noise complaints he stopped and moved out. Your neighbor saying the fibers need to stay even sounds like some kind of OCD thing, and that is not something earplugs are going to fix. The landlord needs to know because a running mower on carpet could wreck the floor under it and start a fire or something. I would call and let them handle it, that is what you pay rent for.
