Tried writing a scene from the villain's grocery list, weirdest breakthrough yet
I was stuck on a fantasy chapter for like 3 days, so I made my antagonist plan a dinner party for 12 guests in the middle of a siege. Listing 'candles, 40 lbs of ice, and a truffle for the mayor's wife' in a panic made his coldness way more real than any monologue I'd drafted. The twist was that doing this for every character, even the innkeeper in chapter 9, gave me subplots I never planned for. Has anyone else used mundane tasks to break a block, or am I just avoiding actual plotting?
