Just hit 100 days in a row on my prompt challenge

So, back in January, I gave myself a rule: write one short story from a random prompt, every single day, no matter what. I almost quit on day 23 when I had the flu, but I wrote a 200-word piece about a sentient tissue box, lol. The real win was this Tuesday. I pulled a prompt about 'a character who finds their old lunchbox in a thrift store' and something just clicked. I wrote a whole 5-page story in one sitting about a guy finding his childhood thermos, and it unlocked a memory about his dad that I didn't even know I was going to write about. It felt like the practice finally paid off in a real way. Has anyone else done a long streak and had a moment where it just suddenly felt easier?

Congrats on the streak. That thermos story sounds like a real breakthrough moment. What kind of prompts do you usually look for?

Honestly, I just look for prompts that feel like a real memory.

Wait, you mean that thermos story from @wesley761 was actually true? I just assumed it was one of those perfect little writing prompts. That makes it so much more powerful. Looking for prompts that feel like a real memory is smart. It explains why your writing always has that weight to it, like the chipped paint on a porch step or the smell of a specific brand of gum. You're pulling from a feeling, not just an idea.
