Can we talk about how the best writing prompts are stolen from real places, not made up?
I sat in the Portland airport on a 4 hour delay and watched a gate agent quietly rewrite the same boarding announcement 6 different times on a napkin, and that napkin was a better prompt than half the stuff I see posted here. Everyone keeps pushing these big fantasy scenarios and abstract what-if questions, but the stuff that actually gets people writing comes from one small, weird, real moment you noticed. So why do so many prompt lists skip the boring details that make a scene feel true?
