Spent 4 hours chasing a swing brake gremlin on a Liebherr in Tulsa
Got called out to a site last Tuesday, machine was swinging slow and then grinding like a coffee can full of rocks. I figured it was the brake solenoid, swapped it in 20 minutes and nothing changed. Then I checked the pressure relief valve, still nothing. My foreman walked over after hour 3 and said, "Did you look at the swivel joint?" Turns out the hydraulic return line was partially collapsed inside, dumping pressure only when the cab rotated past 90 degrees. Whole thing solved in 10 minutes with a new hose, but I felt like a total rookie. Has anyone else had a hidden line failure that made you question every diagnosis you ever made?
