Showerthought: I stopped watching my load line and started watching the wind sock, and my swings got way smoother
I picked up a tip from a guy at the yard in Beaumont two weeks ago and it changed how I run. I used to stare straight at the load the whole pick, which meant I caught every little sway late and spent the day chasing it with the swing brake. Now I glance at the wind sock out on the east fence once every few seconds, and I can feel the drift coming before the load even shows it. Last Thursday I set 14 roof trusses with almost no tag line fuss, and the ground guy even asked what I changed. I'm not saying it works on every site, especially where there is nothing to watch for wind. What is your go to thing to watch besides the load itself?
