Finally got that stubborn tower crane slewing brake adjusted right
It was binding just enough to cause a slight drift, and I spent almost four hours on it yesterday. Turns out the locking nut on the adjuster was seized solid from road salt. Anyone have a go-to penetrating oil for that kind of salty corrosion?

Try heating the nut first next time. A little heat from a torch breaks the salt bond way faster than any oil.

Heating it up first is a total game changer, @reese997. I used a regular lighter on mine for just ten seconds and it twisted right off. The oil method always left my hands greasy and took forever. Your torch idea sounds even faster for really stuck ones.
