Am I the only one who thinks the tagline guy at my site is smarter than the engineer?
Last Thursday a rigger named Dale told me he trusts the tagline more than the load chart when the wind kicks up past 20, and I laughed until he explained about the swing radius nobody marks on the ground. He said the chart tells you what the crane can do, the tagline tells you what it is actually doing right now. So do you guys run a dedicated tagline hand on every pick or just when the swing gets weird?
