Serious question, did I waste $60 on that cozy fishing game bundle during the Steam sale?
I grabbed a 3 game cozy bundle for $60 during the summer sale because the screenshots looked so calm and pretty, like instant Stardew vibes. Two of them turned out to be buggy messes with tiny maps, and the third one was basically a farming game with a 4 hour story and nothing after that. I put about 2 hours into each one before quitting, which works out to like $10 an hour of mild boredom. The screenshots sold me and the actual games were empty, which feels backwards for a community built on pretty moments. Has anyone else bought a cozy game just from the pics and regretted it, or am I just bad at picking them?
Did you check the review counts before buying, like not the score but how many people actually left them? That's the thing nobody talks about with cozy bundles. A game can sit at "very positive" with like 40 reviews from the dev's friends and early fans, while a game with 3000 reviews at "mostly positive" is way more likely to be a real thing. Cozy games get hit extra hard by this because the art sells the wishlist and then nobody sticks around long enough to warn you. So no, you're not bad at picking, you just trusted the store page instead of the numbers behind it.
