Did my color theory cheat me for 6 years? Need a reality check

I just realized I've been mixing cool tones by adding blue to everything, but a client in Austin pointed out her ash blonde looked muddy and asked if I used green instead. Now I'm wondering if I've been doing this wrong the whole time, or if she just had weird undertones. Anyone else have a moment where a client's casual comment made you question your whole technique?

Forget the green, your blue method probably saved more brunette clients from looking greenish than you realize. That Austin client might just have had a warm neutral base that fights any ash tone, so don't let one comment rewrite six years of work.
