Can we talk about trying to match a client's faded red hair color?
I had a client come in last month wanting her faded red dye job refreshed, but she couldn't remember the exact brand or shade. I figured it would be a quick consult and mix. Wrong. It took me four separate test strands and almost two full hours just to get a formula that didn't pull too orange or go too pink on her. I ended up using a mix of three different color lines, something I never do. Has anyone else had a simple color correction turn into a major puzzle like that? What's your go-to method for matching a mystery red?
