Can we talk about the $300 I blew on a lash extension course that taught me nothing usable

I paid $300 for a 2 day lash extension class in Dallas back in January and I'm still mad about it. The instructor spent 6 hours on a slideshow about client care and maybe 45 minutes actually showing us how to isolate lashes. I came back to my chair and my first real set took me 3 hours and looked like a spider died on the girl's face. I've learned more from a $15 YouTube series and practicing on friends. Did anyone else take a cert course that was mostly filler, and what finally made lash work click for you?
