A client told me my highlights looked 'striped' and I was so embarrassed
She said it looked like I used a comb instead of weaving sections. I switched to a finer zigzag part and now my blends look way more natural. Anyone else get feedback that stung at first but actually helped a ton?

The thing nobody talks about is how lighting in the salon can totally trick you. I used to do my sections under bright overhead fluorescents then clients would leave and see their hair in natural sunlight and bam - stripes everywhere. Now I do all my sectioning near the window or with a daylight lamp. Clients think I'm just being picky but it's the difference between blends that look good in the chair and blends that actually look good in real life. That feedback probably saved your work more than any fancy technique could.
