TIL the local radio tower was broadcasting a hum through my plumbing for 3 years

I live about a mile from the old AM tower off Highway 90. About a week ago I was fixing a leaky pipe under the kitchen sink and heard this faint buzzing sound coming from the copper line. My neighbor is a ham radio guy, he stopped by and said that tower can couple right into metal pipes if the grounding is bad. Called a plumber, he added a dielectric fitting and the hum just stopped. Has anyone else ever had weird noises from radio interference in their house?

That explanation sounds like a stretch, probably just pipe expansion noise.

My house makes creepier noises than that at night, I should know.
