My neighbor's fake crop circle started a county-wide debate last Tuesday
So this guy in the next town over spent 3 hours stomping down wheat in a pattern he found online. He posted it as proof that aliens visited Butler County. Before noon, the local Facebook page had 200 comments, two news vans showed up, and some guy with a metal detector drove 40 miles to check it. I went out there myself and saw the boot prints at the edges. Told him straight up it was fake. He doubled down, said it was 'landing gear marks.' Then the farmer who owns the field came out and threatened to call the sheriff for trespassing. Whole thing collapsed by sunset. Has anyone else had a local hoax spiral out of control like this? How do you shut it down without making people double down?

Boot prints are just the aliens' way of being fashion-forward, obviously. The real mystery is why the metal detector guy didn't find any common sense out there. Did the farmer at least charge admission for the circus?
