Had to pick between going deep on the moon landing or flat earth for a debate club topic
Our debate club in Omaha needed a topic for the spring contest, and I was stuck between arguing the moon landing was faked or that the earth is flat. I chose the moon landing one because I found more old NASA documents to look at. It went okay, but the other team brought up a point about the flag moving I couldn't fully answer. What's a solid fact to use against that flag argument?

Honestly, the flag thing is a common one but it's based on a misunderstanding. The flag only seemed to wave because the astronauts were twisting the pole to get it into the ground. There's no air on the moon, so once they let go, it stopped moving. The ripples you see are just from the fabric being bunched up during travel. It's a still photo of a flag that had just been handled. Did your debate club bring up the laser reflectors left up there?

Oh man, the flag thing always comes up. Next time just hit them with the laser reflector point, it's a total checkmate because we can bounce lasers off those things left on the moon right now.
